National Trade & Procurement Manager
Located in either Alexandria, Sydney (NSW), Southbank, Melbourne (VIC), Adelaide Airport (SA), or Brisbane Airport (QLD)

As our National Trade & Procurement Manager, you’ll drive our carrier strategy across Import & Export Sea Freight, strengthen key partnerships and deliver competitive commercial outcomes across the business.
Working closely with Sales, Operations and senior leaders nationally, you’ll have broad exposure across the business, genuine development opportunities and the chance to shape our national trade strategy as SEAWAY continues to grow.
The Role
Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead SEAWAY’s national trade and procurement strategy across Import & Export Sea Freight
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key carriers and suppliers
- Negotiate competitive rates, allocations, service agreements and commercial terms
- Lead tenders and sourcing activities, from strategy and evaluation through to negotiation and implementation
- Partner with Sales and Operations to support competitive customer solutions and new business opportunities
- Support the development of consistent procurement practices and processes nationally
- Lead and develop a high-performing Trade & Procurement team, with a strong focus on capability, performance and development
About You
You’re a commercially sharp freight professional who knows the market, understands carriers and enjoys getting the best deal on the table.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
- Strong experience in trade, procurement or carrier management within freight forwarding
- Established carrier and industry relationships
- Excellent negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to think strategically while remaining hands-on when required
- Experience with CargoWise would be highly regarded
- A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively across a national business
