The Role
This role is responsible for managing end-to-end freight forwarding operations to meet client supply chain and logistics requirements. Key tasks include freight bookings, documentation, invoicing, shipment tracking, and coordinating inland transport. Working closely with the Import Operations Manager and our national imports team, you’ll use your expertise in relationship management and problem-solving to ensure timely and accurate cargo delivery.

You are a highly organised and experienced Import Operator with experience across in sea freight with a shipping company or forwarder. This position will suit candidates who are motivated, determined, with a willingness to learn and use their initiative to problem solve.

What will your average day involve?
- Processing import bookings with accuracy and attention to detail
- Entering and maintaining data across logistics systems with a focus on data integrity
- Managing all job steps, including documentation, invoicing, and reporting, within tight timeframes
- Coordinating inland transport and ensuring timely customs clearance and delivery
- Delivering high-level customer service to clients, partners, and internal teams
- Handling a high volume of emails and calls professionally and efficiently
- Collaborating with sales, account managers, and operations staff to meet client requirements
- Providing backup support to the team during peak seasons or staff absences
- Identifying and suggesting improvements to streamline workflows and systems
About You

Required Skills & Experience:
- Experience in Import Seafreight operations. Other similar experience in the freight forwarding industry will also be considered
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Effective time management and organisational skills
- Solid understanding of import documentation requirements
- Ability to follow instructions and adaptable learner
- Experience using Cargowise One
